Yum Yummy, Nedley’s open in Perrysburg after passing health inspections

PERRYSBURG — Two restaurants that had been shut down due to health department violations are reopen.

The licenses of Yum Yummy, 10677 Fremont Pike, and Nedley’s Ice Cream and Coffee Cafe, 200 E. South Boundary St., were suspended by the Wood County Board of Health at April’s meeting.

In January, both businesses had several violations during inspections.

Yum Yummy, which was closed for 14 days, had four critical and six non-critical violations.

Nedley’s, which was closed for seven days, had five critical and nine non-critical violations.

“Both facilities are open following our re-inspections at the end of their respective suspension periods,” said Beth Peery, public health information and education manager for the health department.

At the April board meeting, President Tom Milbrodt said that the decisions to suspend licenses are not made lightly. There are inspections, an education process and administrative hearings, he said.

Jen Campos, community outreach coordinator with the health department, previously said that several conditions had to be met during a re-inspection, for the eateries to reopen.

“The conditions that must be met at the inspection in order to reopen are that there are no critical violations and that all previously noted violations are corrected. They must also have no more than four non-critical violations. The facility may reopen immediately when the conditions of the opening inspection are met,” Campos said.
