The difference between right and wrong

Spring is here and summer is not far away. We hope for festivals, picnics, barbecues and a day at the beach or pool. However, reality may soon hit us.

Will there be more disruptions of planned events by the activists, and more shootings, rioting and violence? Will there ever be a “normal” like we knew before, or is this to be the new normal?

Shootings, disruptions, rioting, stealing, looting — and our educational system in shambles. What ever happened to reading, writing and arithmetic? Age-appropriate subjects are a thing of the past. We are told this is the new way of education. What was bad about the old way? Education is supposed to educate, not indoctrinate or brainwash. What ever happened to learning the difference between right and wrong?

Most people do know the difference — it is our so-called leaders who don’t.

Someone enters a store and takes whatever they want without paying for it. If they get arrested, they are released. A group starts breaking windows and setting fires, but no one is held for this. Law and order don’t exist in many cities. And the leaders don’t do anything. There is no enforcement of laws and parents are told not to interfere with their children’s education. Innocent people are shot and killed just going about everyday activities.

Is there a difference between right and wrong? Crime is up and people don’t seem to care. People who do are criticized for caring. There is no common sense and no moral outrage.

Morals aren’t just for religious people. A high moral standard is what is needed in civilized society, whether we are religious or not. High standards and a deep respect for law and order. We also need to respect each other, even if we may disagree with other opinions and beliefs.

We need to return to the attitude that parents are responsible for their children. Everyone needs to be held accountable for their actions and non-actions. No one is above the law, so says our so-called leaders. But is that only appropriate when the leaders are attacking an opponent? No, it should apply to everyone.

Where is the common sense? Where is the justification? Where is the equality? Nothing in today’s world is making any sense. We the people are being led down the road to nowhere, to the destruction of our society.

We need leaders who will follow and obey the laws of our nation, as written in the U.S. Constitution. We need leaders who will stop all this madness. We need leaders who know the difference between right and wrong.
