Wood County Health Dept. conducts inspections

The Wood County Health Department found few violations during inspections conducted the first week of this month.

The following inspection was done Feb. 27.

Frobose Meat Locker, 215 E. Front St., Pemberville, had one non-critical offense, which was equipment components are not intact, tight or properly adjusted.

The following inspections were done Feb. 28.

Pisanello’s Pizza, 165 Bierly Ave., Pemberville, had two non-critical violations, which were physical facilities not maintained in good repair; and facility not maintained clean.

Glass City Boardwalk, 27820 E. Broadway, Walbridge, had one critical and three non-critical offenses.

Critical was employees are not informed in a verifiable manner of their responsibility to report information about their health.

Non-critical were no written procedures for responding to vomiting or diarrheal events (corrected during inspection); no soap at handwashing sink(s); and non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean (repeat).

Cotton’s Corner Carryout, 102 W. Crocker St., Bradner, had one critical offense, which was improper use of a poisonous or toxic substance. It was corrected during inspection.

The following inspections were done March 2.

During a follow-up inspection, City Old Town Buffet, Inc., 1216 N. Main St., Bowling Green, had two non-critical offenses, which were cutting or piercing parts of can opener no longer clean; and non-food contact surfaces not easily cleanable.

During a follow-up inspection, Kroger, 1094 N. Main St., Bowling Green, had five non-critical violations, which were bulk food for customer self-service not properly labeled; improper storage of food items; non-food contact surfaces not easily cleanable; non-food contact surface(s) not cleaned at the required frequency; and unnecessary or nonfunctional items and /or litter on premises.

Luckey Carry Out, 301 Main St., had one critical and one non-critical offense.

Critical was improper storage of poisonous or toxic materials. It was corrected during inspection.

Non-critical was hot and cold holding equipment thermometer was missing, located incorrectly, or not easily readable.

During a follow-up inspection, Ridis, 7422 Wales Road, Northwood, had one critical and seven non-critical violations.

Critical was quaternary ammonium sanitizing solution at incorrect temperature, concentration, and/or water hardness.

Non-critical were nonfood-contact surfaces not easily cleanable; equipment components are not intact, tight or properly adjusted; non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean; mops dried improperly; facility not maintained clean; unnecessary or nonfunctional items and/or litter on premises; and physical facilities not maintained in good repair.
