Shirley Green, director of the Toledo Police Museum and adjunct professor of history at Bowling Green State University and Toledo University, will present the annual Women’s History Month Guest Lecture, hosted by the Department of History at Bowling Green State University.
The lecture will be held on March 28 at 4 p.m. in Room 207 of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union at BGSU. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Green’s lecture is entitled “The History of Women in Law Enforcement: Toledo Police Department.”
The talk will provide a general history which tracks the trajectory of women’s role in American policing (from policewomen to female patrol officers), with a local history focus on the Toledo Police Department, where Green formerly served as a lieutenant on the police force.
