A former North Baltimore man has pleaded guilty to failure to comply with an order of a police officer.

Vincent Turner, 32, currently of Arlington, appeared Thursday in the courtroom of Wood County Common Pleas Judge Joel Kuhlman.

He was indicted in December for failure to comply with a signal or order of a police officer, a third-degree felony.

Kuhlman said he could impose a prison sentence of up to 36 months. A license suspension is mandatory and could be from three years to life, he said.

Wood County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Dexter Phillips recommended a sentence of community control.

On Oct. 27, the North Baltimore Police Department was called to a Tarr Street home on a report of a possible suicidal person, Phillips said.

Police had a brief encounter with Turner before he got into his vehicle and fled eastbound before entering southbound Interstate 75.

He drove 110-120 mph while weaving in and out of traffic and cutting off drivers, Phillips said.

Turner eventually abandoned the vehicle near the 16000 block of County Road 8 near Arlington and fled on foot. He was apprehended a short time later, Phillips said.

Sentencing was set for May 25.
