Falcons 8th of 18 at Ross Collegiate

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. – The Bowling Green State University men’s golf team placed eighth out of 18 teams at George Mason’s Ross Collegiate, held at the Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club, a par-72, 6,713-yard course.

Brandon Rattray (69-73-72-214) led BGSU at two over park, finishing tied for seventh. Tom Bell (74-72-73-219 took 22nd place at three over par and Darin Hudak (75-78-72-225) finished tied for 47th at nine over.

Rounding out the BGSU lineup was Connor Gdovin (72-78-76-226) at 10 over, finishing tied for 54th, and Ethan Irvine (81-80-76-237) who finished tied for 84th at 21 over par.

Rattray was sixth at the tournament with 13 birdies, while Bell was 11th with 34 pars and seventh in par four scoring at plus-2. Rattray was third in the tournament in par five scoring at 9-under-par.

South Florida (849) won the tournament at 15-under-par, followed by Loyola Maryland (859), Elon (868), George Washington (868), Miami (OH) (870), Loyola Chicago (871), William & Mary (881), and BGSU (884).

Rounding out the field were St. John’s (890), George Mason (892), Georgetown (896), Saint Joseph’s (897), Villanova (898), Old Dominion (899), Towson (901), Eastern Michigan (902), Ohio (906) and St. Bonaventure (915)

The Falcons return to action March 26 in a one-day event with Miami (OH) and Northern Kentucky in Oxford, Ohio.
