In 2015 her poetry collection was a finalist for the National Federation of State Poetry Societies Stevens Award, and it was a semifinalist for the Crab Orchard Series 1st Book Award.

In May 2021 she performed in a “Poet Tea” fundraiser event for BG’s Black Swamp Players. From 1998-99 Trautman was a theater critic for the Sentinel-Tribune.
