Bowling Green State University tennis players Ioanna Tsadari and Eloise Saraty have been named Mid-American Conference Doubles Team of the Week.

The senior duo secured the doubles points for the Falcons in the team’s 4-3 win over Youngstown State’s Cecilia Rosas and Maria Oliveira, earning a 6-2 win over at No. 1.

“It’s good to have Ioanna back. She’s a leader,” BGSU coach Mike Bonnell said. “She’s a proven winner at this level.

“Eloise has so much talent, it fits in with Ioanna perfectly. We’re really happy for them to get some recognition. They have put in the work. They deserve all the accolades that they will get.”

This was the pair’s second victory of the season and it guided BGSU to a 4-3 win at home. As a duo, Tsadari and Saraty are 3-2 in the 2022-23 season, with a 2-1 mark in the spring. As a team, the Falcons have an 11-10 overall doubles record this season.

This is the first MAC recognition for the pair and second of the season for the Falcons. The first honor was awarded to Lucy Furness and Hannah Neuman, who earned MAC Doubles Team of the Week on Jan. 26.

The Falcons play today in a neutral site showdown with Northern Kentucky. Bowling Green will travel to Dayton to face the Norse, with first serve set for 4:30 p.m.
