Wood County Health Department conducts inspections

The Wood County Health Department conducted inspections in Bowling Green and Rossford at the end of January.

The following inspections were done Jan. 30.

Yala Kol Express, 27151 D Crossroads Pkwy., Rossford, had two critical and seven non-critical violations.

Critical were equipment food-contact surfaces or utensils are unclean (repeat); and working containers of poisonous or toxic materials not properly labeled (repeat, corrected during inspection).

Non-critical were food employee(s) not wearing a hair restraint (repeat, corrected during inspection); re-use of single-service or single-use articles; non-food contact surfaces not easily cleanable (repeat); equipment components are not intact, tight or properly adjusted (repeat); non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean (repeat); physical facilities not maintained in good repair (repeat); and food service operation did not have a person in charge per shift with the person in charge certification in food protection (repeat).

Chili’s Grill & Bar, 9886 Olde U.S. 20, Rossford, had one critical and three non-critical offenses.

Critical was the presence of live insects (live gnats were observed throughout bar area).

Non-critical were equipment and utensils are not being air dried; non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean; and facility not maintained clean.

The following inspections were done Jan. 31.

Qdoba Mexican Eats, 129 S. Main St., Bowling Green, had one critical and two non-critical offenses.

Critical was temperature-controlled foods not being hot held at the proper temperature (repeat). It was corrected during inspection.

Non-critical were non-food contact surfaces not easily cleanable; and physical facilities not maintained in good repair (repeat).

Slow Ride Saloon, 229 Main St., Luckey, had one non-critical offense, which was floors, walls, and/or ceilings not smooth and easily cleanable (repeat).

Bamboo Garden, 828 S. Main St., Bowling Green, had four critical and two non-critical violations.

Critical were food not properly protected from contamination by separation, packaging, and segregation (repeat); equipment food-contact surfaces or utensils are unclean; temperature-controlled foods not being cold held at the proper temperature; and refrigerated, ready-to-eat, temperature-controlled foods not properly date marked. All were corrected during inspection.

Non-critical were in-use utensils improperly stored (corrected during inspection); and non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean (repeat).

Stones Throw Tavern (The) & Grill, 176 E. Wooster St., Bowling Green, had three critical and seven non-critical violations.

Critical were ready-to-eat, temperature-controlled food not properly discarded when required; refrigerated, ready-to-eat, temperature-controlled foods not properly date marked (repeat, corrected during inspection); and improper storage of poisonous or toxic materials (repeat, corrected during inspection).

Non-critical were facility does not have an employee with manager certification in food protection (repeat); improper storage of food items (repeat); equipment and utensils are not being air dried (repeat); non-food contact surfaces not easily cleanable; cooking equipment or pan surfaces unclean; non-food contact surfaces of equipment throughout the facility are unclean (repeat); and facility not maintained clean (repeat).

Heritage Corner Health Care Campus, 1069 Klotz Road, Bowling Green, had one critical and one non-critical offense.

Critical was equipment food-contact surfaces or utensils are unclean. It was corrected during inspection.

Non-critical was facility not maintained clean.

Sonic Drive In, 10100 Olde U.S. 20, Rossford, had one critical and three non-critical offenses.

Critical was temperature-controlled foods not being cold held at the proper temperature (repeat). It was corrected during inspection.

Non-critical were improper storage of food items; non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean; and facility not maintained clean. All were repeat offenses.

Zero violations were found at Wood County Fair Pavilion, 13800 W. Poe Road, Bowling Green; and Heritage Corner Nursing Home, 1069 Klotz Road, Suite B, Bowling Green.
