Pemberville man hurt after guardrail goes through vehicle

MILLBURY — A Pemberville driver was taken to the hospital after he struck a guardrail, and the rail went through his vehicle.

On Tuesday at 11:19 p.m., Lake Township police were called to Pemberville Road near the Libbey Road intersection for a single-vehicle crash.

According to the accident report, Kenneth Hill IV, 27, was northbound on Pemberville Road when he crossed all lanes and drove off the left side of the road. His 2018 Dodge Journey struck a guardrail and posts.

Hill sustained serious suspected injuries after the guardrail penetrated his vehicle, according to the report.

Photos on the Lake Township Police Department Facebook page show the guardrail went through the entire vehicle and exited out the back window.

Hill was taken to Mercy-St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo by Lake Township EMS.

He was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control and the accident report indicates he was distracted before the crash.
