The Shakespeare Round Table met at the Carter House for the January social. President Helene Weinberger welcomed 17 members.

The dessert was a chocolate mousse cake topped with whipped cream on a chocolate crust. The tables were decorated with Valentine colors, flowers, hearts and candies.

Vice President Patti Rish introduced Norma Stickler who presented research on the origins of the dark lady in some of Shakepeare’s sonnets. Members took turns reading their assigned sonnet and sharing commentaries.

The next meeting will begin the study of Act 1 of Shakepeare’s “Cymbeline.”
