The driver of an SUV was seriously injured after a head-on crash earlier this month.

On Jan. 23 shortly after 3:30 p.m., the Wood County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the area of U.S. 6 and Huffman Road for an injury crash involving a commercial tractor trailer and an SUV.

A witness and the operator of the tractor trailer reportedly both stated the tractor trailer was eastbound when the driver of the SUV, who was westbound, slowly crossed the center line and into the lane of travel of the tractor trailer, causing a head-on collision.

Donn Levis, 83, Lambertville, Michigan, was extricated from his 2020 Nissan Rogue with mechanical means and transported to Mercy-St. Vincent Hospital, Toledo, by Mid-County EMS with serious injuries.

He was wearing a seatbelt, according to the accident report.

Jeffery Campbell, Oberlin, was driving the tractor trailer and was not injured.
