A Wayne man has been arrested for kidnapping and domestic violence.

On Tuesday around 5:15 p.m., Bowling Green police responded to South Main Street and Gypsy Lane Road for a vehicle crash. While enroute, dispatch advised two of the occupants were engaged in a fight.

When the officer arrived, he parked in the southbound left turn lane on South Main and observed a woman on the ground. Standing above her was a large man, later identified as Keith E. Henry, 49, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

Henry was visibly upset and yelling at two witnesses as the officer approached, according to the report. The woman said Henry ran into her vehicle with his, then assaulted her, according to the report.

Henry told the officer he ran into the woman with his vehicle. When the woman and a child exited her vehicle, he told the child to get into his truck. When she refused, he grabbed her by the arms and tried to force her into the vehicle, according to the report. The woman reportedly grabbed Henry and put herself between him and the child.

While in the process of getting away from the woman, Henry spun around and threw her onto the ground, which caused injury to her head, according to the report.

Henry told the officer he did not want to intentionally hurt the woman and that his actions stemmed from a custody dispute.

The woman was transported to Wood County Hospital for treatment.

Henry was arrested for kidnapping and two counts domestic violence and was taken to jail.

He remained in jail Wednesday with a $60,000 bond.
