PERRYSBURG — A Maumee woman was seriously injured in a Friday crash on Ohio 65, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

At 10 p.m., the patrol was called to Ohio 65 in Middleton Township where a vehicle traveling southwest failed to negotiate a curve just before a driveway in the 25000 block, struck a ditch and overturned.

Kelsey Williams, who turned 23 on Saturday, was taken by Middleton Township EMS to ProMedica Toledo Hospital with suspected serious injuries.

According to the accident report, she was not wearing a seatbelt and had to be extricated from her 2006 Ford Focus via mechanical means.

It is believed alcohol and/or drugs were not a factor in the crash.

Williams, of Maumee, was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control and no seatbelt.
