Karl Heinz Offerman

Karl Heinz Offerman, 88, of Waterville, passed away on Tuesday morning, January 17, 2023, at Kingston of Perrysburg. He was born on October 14, 1934 to Karl D. and Gertrude (Tilker) Offerman, in Herford, Germany. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1959 stationed in Germany and France. On December 11, 1958 he married Ingeborg M. Zimmerman in Manheim, Germany. Karl and Inga have raised 2 daughters and celebrated over 64 years of marriage together.

Karl worked as an electrician 25 years for Chrysler in Perrysburg. Following retirement, he drove bus for a tour lines. Karl was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pemberville; he was also a past member of the Toledo ski club. His enjoyments included wood working which he loved to do, going to the German-American Festival at Oak Shade Grove, traveling with his wife Inga to Germany, Austria, Switzerland and around the United States in their motor home. Other enjoyments included fishing, animals especially dogs and tinkering in his shop. Out of all his enjoyments it was spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters that brought him the most joy.

In addition to his wife Ingeborg, Karl is survived by his daughters: Karla H. (James) Logston of FL, and Christine L. (Donald) Dekeyser of IN. Granddaughters: Carli (Tony) Lanza and Haley (Mike) Tessier both of IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Werner Offerman.

Friends and family will be received from 4-7 p.m., Monday, January 23, 2023, at Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, Ohio. A Funeral Service will be at the funeral home 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 24, 2023. There will be additional visitation the day of the funeral from 10 a.m., until time of service. Officiating will be, Rev. James Budke. Interment with military honors will be in Pemberville Cemetery, Pemberville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to: Bethlehem Lutheran Church or to a humane society of the donor’s choice.
