Ronald Ray Trumbull, 84, of Custar, Ohio passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Bowling Green, Ohio.

He was born May 1, 1938 in Bowling Green to the late Ray and Garnet (Shaner) Trumbull. He graduated from Liberty Township High School in 1956 and from Owens College in 1969. Ron honorably served his country for two terms in the US Army from 1957-1962, being recalled for the Berlin Crisis. In September of 2022, he was a proud participant in Honor Flight #20, Findlay, Ohio.

On June 13, 1959 he married his life partner in Rita Goris at St. Louis Catholic Church, Custar.

Ron worked as a district sales manager at Frito-Lay and the former Cains Potato Chip, Bowling Green, Ohio. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church; Norcross-Meyers American Legion Post #305, Custar and a 32nd Degree Mason with Masonic Lodge #560 F. & A.M., Weston, Ohio.

Together, Ron and Rita enjoyed life on their farm in rural Custar and their winters vacationing to Zephyrhills, Florida. He was a skilled clock maker and practiced the art of fretwork, making many pieces for his family and friends to treasure. His woodworking included hand cutting over 2000 4-H Clovers that have spanned from Wood County to the entire country. He also ministered to people in need with beautiful handmade wooden angels. He was always a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He took special interests in all of his family’s causes; always willing to support them with his time and talents.

He is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Rita; three daughters, Kay (Dean) Zeisloft; Emily (Paul) Hoile; Jennifer (Rob) Morlock; four grandchildren, Christopher (Mallory) Trumbull; Tisha (Jeremy) Daleska; Nathan (Lexie) Zeisloft; Ronald (Lindsey) Zeisloft; 2 great grandchildren, Kaylie and Hayden; and two sisters, Cheryl Forsberg and Lynne Oehlerich.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Trumbull and sister, Janet Lee.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Custar with Fr. David Tscherne officiating. Graveside military honors accorded by the Wood County Veterans Posts will follow in the church cemetery and a luncheon will be held in the school basement.

Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Monday at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Visitation will also be from 10-11 a.m., Tuesday at the church.

The family suggests memorials to Wood County 4-H Clover Legacy Foundation or St. Louis Catholic School.
