PERRYSBURG — Sara Shaw, author of “Two Sisters and the Four Leaf Clover,” will be at Gathering Volumes, 196 E. South Boundary St., on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

“Two Sisters and the Four Leaf Clover” is a heartbreaking story of a family struggling through a life filled with tragedy and abuse. Shaw wrote the book to be a voice for those that have suffered from abuse to help with their healing and share with others the importance of hanging on to hope and having courage.

Associates from the Cocoon, a comprehensive domestic and sexual violence agency providing shelter and advocacy services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, sex trafficking, stalking and adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, will be at the event.

“As a local bookstore, obviously part of our mission is introducing readers to authors, especially Ohio authors, and also to support the community” said Denise Phillips, owner of Gathering Volumes.

Items for the Cocoon will be collected. The Cocoon’s website updates their needed items each week on their Facebook page. Some of the items they commonly need are liquid laundry detergent and softener, body wash, shampoo, paper plates, bowls, razors, paper towels and toilet paper.
