Vetter talks to BG Rotary Club

The Bowling Green Rotary Club speaker on Thursday will be Tony Vetter, a rotary member and executive director at Downtown Bowling Green Special Improvement District. He will speak about pending changes in downtown Bowling Green. The club meets at noon at Bowling Green Country Club, 923 Fairview Ave.

Kiwanis Club hears from OSU professor

The Bowling Green Kiwanis will meet on Thursday at the Wood County Senior Center, 140 S. Grove St. The public is welcome to attend. The meeting starts at noon and lunch is available starting at 11:30 a.m.

This week the club welcomes speaker Robyn Wilson, who is a professor of risk analysis and decision science at Ohio State University. Wilson also is acting associate director of the School of Environment and Natural Resources at OSU. Her research focus is on adaptation to climate-exacerbated hazards (e.g., wildfire, algal blooms), and what motivates and constrains different land use and land management decisions on private and public lands.

Food distribution held in Wayne

WAYNE — The monthly food distribution for the Wayne area will be held Thursday from 9-10 a.m. at the Wayne Fire Hall, 200 N. Center St. The food distribution is for those in the 43466 zip code.

BG Civil Service Commission meeting set

The Bowling Green Civil Service Commission will meet at 3 p.m. on Monday in the Human Resources Department, which is located on the top floor of the City Administrative Services Building, 304 N. Church St.

The purpose is to review, modify, add and/or recommend changes to civil service rules, take all actions necessary to establish eligibility and certified lists, establishing testing procedures and processes, establishing passing examination scores, accept requests to waive out of hiring processes, and/or certify or refuse to certify names of candidates deemed eligible for consideration for hire or promotion to classified positions. Action will also be taken, as necessary, to modify, add, accept, or abolish job descriptions, and to establish classified positions and/or schedule and/or establish the requirements for or types of hiring or promotional examinations.
