BLOOMDALE — Hayden Wickard had 23 points, 12 rebounds, three steals and four assists in leading Elmwood to a 50-46 Northern Buckeye Conference victory over visiting Lake Friday.
Kade Lentz scored 19 points, Zach May scored four points, Will Harrison scored three points, and Jackson Childress added one point for the Royals’ cause.
Elmwood opened a 12-6 first quarter lead, but the Flyers began cutting into the lead, trailing by five, 27-22 at halftime, and by just three, 36-33, entering the final stanza.
Carter Belhmer led Lake with 13 points, Caleb Tobias scored 11, Preston Snyder scored eight, Jack Caughorn scored seven, Brandon Darr scored four and Dylan Wiley added three points.
Elmwood, 2-7 overall, gets its first NBC victory against four losses while Lake, 1-11, is winless in seven league games.
