Ryan Myers will serve as president of the Bowling Green City Schools Board of Education in 2023.

The board held a special meeting Tuesday and unanimously elected Myers as president and Tracy Hovest as vice president.

Myers joined the board in November 2020, after being selected to fill the seat vacated with the departure of Bill Clifford.

He had been unsuccessful in his bid for a board seat the previous year, but was elected in 2021 to a full term, which expires in 2025.

Hovest joined the board in 2020.

Paul Walker, who served on the school board for eight years before stepping down in 2019, was reappointed to the Penta Career Center Board of Education. His term will expire at the end of this year.

Meetings will remain on the third Tuesday of the month at 5:30 p.m., with the exception of January and August.

The January meeting will be held on the 25th in the middle school library.

The August meeting was moved to the 22nd.
