Wood County Health Department conducts inspections

The Wood County Health Department conducted the following inspections Dec. 8-9.

The following inspections were done Dec. 8.

Ricks Silver Moon Soda Grill, 7820 Ponderosa Road, Suite A, Perrysburg, had five critical and 13 non-critical violations.

Critical were person in charge did not ensure employees are properly maintaining temperatures of temperature-controlled foods during hot and cold storage (repeat); employees are not informed in a verifiable manner of their responsibility to report information about their health; refrigerated, ready-to-eat, temperature-controlled foods not properly date marked (repeat, corrected during inspection); ready-to-eat, temperature-controlled food not properly discarded when required (corrected during inspection); and food contact surfaces not easily cleanable (repeat).

Non-critical were improper storage of food items; food employee(s) not wearing a hair restraint; equipment and utensils are not being air dried (repeat); equipment components are not intact, tight or properly adjusted; equipment not approved by a recognized testing agency (repeat); non-food contact surfaces not easily cleanable (repeat); non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean (repeat); physical facilities not maintained in good repair (repeat); facility not maintained clean (repeat); floors, walls, and/or ceilings not smooth and easily cleanable (repeat); floor and wall junctures not properly coved or closed and/or floor drains not provided (repeat); unnecessary or nonfunctional items and/or litter on premises (repeat); and light intensity less than 10 foot candles in required areas (repeat).

Subway Sandwiches, 854 S. Main St., Bowling Green, had one critical and one non-critical offense.

Critical was temperature-controlled foods not being cold held at the proper temperature.

Non-critical was utensils and equipment contacting non-temperature-controlled foods not cleaned at required frequency (repeat, corrected during inspection).

International House of Pancakes, 10151 Fremont Pike, Perrysburg, had two non-critical offenses, which were in-use utensils improperly stored (corrected during inspection); and non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean.

Amerasia Chinese Restaurant, 311 Superior St., Rossford, had five critical and five non-critical violations.

Critical were equipment food-contact surfaces or utensils are unclean; sanitizing solution at incorrect temperature and/or concentration (repeat); temperature-controlled foods not being cold held at the proper temperature (repeat); refrigerated, ready-to-eat, temperature-controlled foods not properly date marked; and improper storage of poisonous or toxic materials. All were corrected during inspection.

Non-critical were improper storage of food items (repeat, corrected during inspection); equipment and utensils are not being air dried (repeat); re-use of single-service or single-use articles (repeat); non-food contact surfaces constructed of unapproved materials (repeat, corrected during inspection); and non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean

The Oaks Dining Center, Bowling Green State University, had one critical and two non-critical offenses.

Critical was improper use of non-continuous cooking. It was corrected during inspection.

Non-critical were inadequate equipment available for cooling, heating or holding food; and non-food contact surfaces not easily cleanable (repeat).

BGSU Oaks Hall Teaching Kitchen, 705 Ridge St., had one non-critical offense, which was non-food contact surfaces not easily cleanable.

During a follow-up inspection, Guajillo’s, 434 E. Wooster St., Unit C, Bowling Green, had two critical and seven non-critical violations.

Critical was chlorine sanitizing solution at incorrect temperature and/or concentration (repeat, corrected during inspection); and refrigerated, ready-to-eat, temperature-controlled foods not properly date marked (repeat, corrected during inspection).

Non-critical were improper method for cooling temperature-controlled foods; temperature-controlled foods not properly thawed; equipment and utensils are not being air dried prior to stacking; non-food contact surfaces not easily cleanable; non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean; physical facilities not maintained in good repair; and facility not maintained clean.

During a follow-up inspection, Everyday People Café, 309 S. Main St., Bowling Green, had two critical and three non-critical offenses.

Critical were person in charge did not ensure that employees observed foods as they were received to determine that they are from approved sources, delivered at the required temperatures, protected from contamination, unadulterated, and accurately presented; and written procedures and plans are not maintained and implemented.

Non-critical were food employee(s) not wearing a hair restraint; non-food contact surfaces of equipment throughout the facility are unclean; and facility not maintained clean.

Dunkin Donuts, 1049 S. Main St., Bowling Green, had one critical and four non-critical offenses.

Critical was improper storage of poisonous or toxic materials. It was corrected during inspection.

Non-critical were inadequate equipment available for cooling, heating or holding food; equipment components are not intact, tight or properly adjusted; non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean (repeat); and physical facilities not maintained in good repair.

Einstein Bros. Bagels @ BGSU, 705 Ridge St., had one non-critical offense, which was employee eating, drinking, or using tobacco in non-designated area. It was corrected during inspection.

Novel Blends, 116 S. Main St., Bowling Green, had one non-critical offense, which was single-use items improperly stored.

The following inspections were done Dec. 9.

Ten Pin Inc., 121 S. Main St., North Baltimore, had one critical and three non-critical offenses.

Critical was temperature-controlled foods not being cold held at the proper temperature. It was corrected during inspection.

Non-critical were inadequate equipment available for cooling, heating or holding food; re-use of single-service or single-use articles (repeat); and non-food contact surface(s) not cleaned at the required frequency (repeat).

Vito’s, 104 E. Union St., Walbridge, had four non-critical offenses, which were facility does not have an employee with manager certification in food protection (repeat); improper storage of food items (repeat); non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean (repeat); and physical facilities not maintained in good repair (repeat).

During a follow-up inspection, Kingston Residence of Perrysburg, 333 E. Boundary St., had one non-critical offense, which was improper method for cooling temperature-controlled foods.

During a follow-up inspection, First Watch, 10630 Fremont Pike, Perrysburg, had two non-critical offenses, which were improper method for cooling temperature-controlled foods; and food employee(s) not wearing a hair restraint.

Zero violations were found at First Solar PGT-2, 28380 Tracy Road, Walbridge.
