Wood County Health Department conducts inspections

The Wood County Health Department continued its inspections earlier this month.

The following inspections were done Dec. 6.

All Saints Catholic School, 630 Lime City Road, Rossford, had one critical and one non-critical offense.

Critical was quaternary ammonium sanitizing solution at incorrect temperature, concentration, and/or water hardness (repeat, corrected during inspection).

Non-critical was equipment components are not intact, tight or properly adjusted (repeat).

Circle K, 4562 Woodville Road, Northwood, had two critical and one non-critical offenses.

Critical were employees are not informed in a verifiable manner of their responsibility to report information about their health; and temperature-controlled foods not being cold held at the proper temperature (corrected during inspection).

Non-critical was bulk food for customer self-service not properly labeled.

Kreischer Dining Hall, 1416 Ridge St., Bowling Green, had two critical and two non-critical offenses.

Critical were hot water for mechanical sanitization is below required temperature; and improper cooling of temperature-controlled food (corrected during inspection).

Non-critical were non-food contact surfaces not easily cleanable (repeat); and non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean (repeat).

Carillon Place Dining Center, Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, had two critical and two non-critical offenses.

Critical were food employee(s) did not wash hands when required; and temperature-controlled foods not being cold held at the proper temperature. Both were corrected during inspection.

Non-critical were inadequate equipment available for cooling, heating or holding food; and improper method for cooling temperature-controlled foods (corrected during inspection).

During a complaint inspection, Bowling Green Dairy Queen, 434 E. Wooster St., had two critical and six non-critical violations.

A complaint was received Dec. 5 that the facility needs an overall cleaning and an employee seemed ill.

Upon inspection, no employees seemed visibly ill. The person in charge stated within the last week there have been employees she has sent home due to illness. The facility and equipment were dirty and needed thorough cleaning.

Critical offenses were not all employees are informed in a verifiable manner of their responsibility to report information about their health (repeat); and refrigerated, ready-to-eat, temperature-controlled foods not properly date marked (repeat).

Non-critical were no towels or drying device at the front handwashing sink; improper storage of food items (repeat); raw fruit and/or vegetables not washed or washed improperly; single-service and single-use articles stored improperly; non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean (repeat); and facility not maintained clean.

Tropical Smoothie Café, 510 E. Wooster St., Bowling Green, had two critical and two non-critical offenses.

Critical were temperature-controlled foods not being cold held at the proper temperature; and refrigerated, ready-to-eat, temperature-controlled foods not properly date marked (corrected during inspection).

Non-critical were non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean (repeat); and facility not maintained clean.

The following inspections were done Dec. 7.

Kinder Care Learning Center, 610 W. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, has two critical and two non-critical offenses.

Critical were temperature-controlled foods not being cold held at the proper temperature; and ready-to-eat, temperature-controlled food not properly discarded when required (corrected during inspection).

Non-critical were facility does not have an employee with manager certification in food protection (repeat); and facility not maintained clean

Speedway, 11141 Fremont Pike, Perrysburg, had one critical and two non-critical offenses.

Critical was equipment food-contact surfaces or utensils are unclean (repeat, corrected during inspection).

Non-critical were no soap at handwashing sink(s); and non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean (repeat).

Hot Head Burritos, 104 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, had three non-critical offenses, which were food employees wearing jewelry on arms or hands during food preparation (repeat); food employee(s) not wearing a hair restraint; and non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean.

IHOP Restaurant, 12906 Deshler Road, North Baltimore, had one critical and two non-critical offenses.

Critical was equipment food-contact surfaces or utensils are unclean. It was corrected during inspection.

Non-critical were clean utensils were improperly (corrected during inspection); and non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean.

Zero violations were found at BP Woodville, 3808 Woodville Road, Northwood; BGSU – Maurer Center, Coffee/Café, 819 E. Wooster St., Bowling Green; Agricultural Incubator Foundation, 13737 Middleton Pike, Bowling Green; Hull Prairie Intermediate School, 25480 Hull Prairie Road, Perrysburg; and ZDOGZ ‘N MORE, 16151 Kellogg Road, Bowling Green.
