112 coronavirus cases reported in last week

There have been 37,650 coronavirus cases in Wood County, according to a Thursday Ohio Department of Health update.

There have been 112 cases in the last seven days.

There has been one hospitalization in the last seven days.

There have been 387 deaths in Wood County since March 2020, according to the Ohio Department of Health. There have been 1,182 hospitalizations since March 2020. 

Statewide, there are 3,294,521 confirmed cases and 40,840 confirmed deaths.

County parks closed due to inclement weather

The Wood County Park District properties and facilities will be closed today, due to forecasted hazardous weather conditions.

BG offices closed Monday

City of Bowling Green offices will be closed on Monday in observance of Christmas.

The refuse/recycling collection will change to regular Monday collection will be collected Tuesday, regular Tuesday collection will be collected Wednesday, regular Wednesday collection will be collected Thursday, and regular Thursday collection will be collected Friday.

BG public utilities meeting canceled

The Bowling Green Board of Public Utilities meeting scheduled for Tuesday is canceled due to lack of official business requiring board action.

The next meeting will be Jan. 9 at 5 p.m. in council chamber at the City Administrative Services Building, 304 N. Church St.

Hazardous weather forecast: A winter storm warning remains in effect untill 7 a.m. Saturday. A wind chill warning remains in effect until 10 a.m. Saturday. A multi-hazard winter storm with a combination of strong winds, very cold temperatures, snow and blowing snow is expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches is expected. Winds will gust as high as 65 mph. Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero are expected. Plan on slippery road conditions. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility and potentially cause hazardous travel. Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines. The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

Tonight: Widespread blowing snow, mainly before 3 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 1. Wind chill values as low as -26. Windy, with a southwest wind 30 to 32 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday: Areas of blowing snow. Mostly cloudy and cold, with a high near 10. Windy, with a southwest wind 23 to 28 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Patchy blowing snow before 11 p.m. Mostly cloudy at night, with a low around 6. Breezy.
