Thirteen year old Evie Van Vorhis from Bowling Green will be singing the National Anthem Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at the Cleveland Browns vs. Baltimore Ravens NFL game.
Van Vorhis is in the eighth grade at Bowling Green Middle School. Her soprano voice is a product of passion, hard work and years of voice lessons.
She was the youngest soloist to perform with the Toledo Symphony, and she currently is a vocal intern for Masterworks Chorale of Toledo. She has performed the National Anthem at games for Ohio State, Bowling Green State University and the University of Toledo.
Van Vorhis has also sung in numerous musicals, including “Shrek the Musical,” “Lion King Jr.,” “Annie” and “Fiddler on the Roof.” In addition to singing and theater, she plays basketball for the junior high team and a has a 4.0 grade point average.
