Ohio State Highway Patrol honors Huffman, Mariano

Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Jeffery Huffman has been selected as the 2022 Trooper of the Year at the Bowling Green post.

The selection of Huffman, 32, is in recognition of outstanding service during 2022 at the Bowling Green post. Fellow officers stationed at the Bowling Green post chose Huffman based on leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude, and cooperation with supervisors, peers, and the public.

Huffman is now in contention for the District and State Trooper of the Year Award.

Huffman joined the highway patrol in 2017 and has served at the Bowling Green post since graduating from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy with the 161st Academy class. Originally from Fostoria and a graduate of Arcadia High School, Huffman graduated from Bowling Green State University. Other Highway Patrol awards received in the past include the Physical Fitness Award, Safe Driving Award, Auto Larceny Award and the Criminal Patrol Award

Dispatcher Jamie KMariano has been selected as the 2022 Dispatcher of the Year at the Bowling Green Dispatch Center.

Mariano, 25, was honored in recognition of outstanding service of the past year at the Bowling Green Dispatch Center. Sworn officers and dispatchers chose Mariano based on technical job knowledge and ability, enthusiastic work attitude, teamwork, and prompt and courteous response to the public’s requests for information and assistance.

Mariano is now in contention for the District and State Dispatcher of the Year Award.

Mariano joined the Highway Patrol in 2018 and has served at the Bowling Green Dispatch Center since joining the Division. Originally from Maumee and a graduate of Maumee High School, Mariano attended Clark State Community College and Ohio University in Chillicothe.

Dispatcher Mariano and her significant other, Brandon, live in Toledo with their dogs: Luna and Axel.
