Michigan man killed in one-vehicle crash on I-75

ROSSFORD — A Michigan man was killed Friday after his Jeep crashed on Interstate 75.

At 10:19 a.m. troopers from the Bowling Green post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a single vehicle crash that occurred on I-75 near mile post 196 in Perrysburg Township.

Dennis Amrhein, 73, Temperance, Michigan, was driving a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on Interstate 75. Amrhein drove off the left side of the roadway into the median and struck a concrete bridge pillar.

Amrhein was not wearing his seatbelt.

Amrhein was transported to Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo by Rossford EMS where he was pronounced dead.

The patrol was assisted at the scene by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Rossford Police Department, Rossford Fire and EMS and VJ’s Towing.
