Zoe Ann VanAlstine, 71, passed away on Monday, November 14th at Kindred Hospital in Sugarland, TX. Zoe was born in Toledo, OH on January 6th, 1951 to James and Shirley (Kidwell) Reed. Zoe was the 3rd out of 5 children of James and Shirley Reed and grew up in the Holland area.
In 1978 Zoe married Richard VanAlstine. They had two children, Mike and Tim. She was a long time residence of Northwest Ohio, living in Pemberville and Woodville before moving to the Houston, TX area to be closer to their son Mike in 2019.
While living in Pemberville, Zoe worked at the Pemberville IGA for 14 years in the deli department. Zoe was known and adored by many people in Pemberville due to her longtime service at the IGA.
Zoe is survived by her Husband, Richard, son Tim, brother Lester (Linda) Reed, Sister Jackie (Mike) Wanless, and youngest sister Rita Caudill, along with many nieces and nephews. Zoe did not have any grandchildren of her own but adored her great nieces and nephews as her own grand babies. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Shirley Reed, brother James(Tom) Reed, and son Mike VanAlstine.
A gathering to celebrate the life of Zoe will be announced at a later date.
