VIDEO: Scots visit BG Curling Club

The Bowling Green Curling Club welcomed 20 women curlers from Scotland’s Royal Caledonian Curling Club as part of the United States Women’s Curling Association 2022 Scottish Women’s USA Tour. Through Nov. 11, the Scots’ five teams of four persons will be sightseeing and curling in 14 clubs as they travel as far west as Denver and as far east as Belfast, Maine. They will compete against teams from the U.S. host clubs throughout their journey and will be vying for the highly coveted Marguerite Roberts Quaich — a shallow vessel with handles that is a symbol of trust and friendship. Every 10 years, clubs throughout the U.S. host the Scots. Typically, five years later the Scots reciprocate by hosting 20 women from the U.S. to tour Scotland. The next U.S. Scot Tour will be held in 2026 due to the rescheduling of the Scottish Women’s Tour because of the pandemic. (Video by J.D. Pooley/Sentinel-Tribune)
