BG Council changes Monday meeting place

The community improvement committee of Bowling Green Council will hold a meeting on Monday at 6 p.m. at Wood County Job and Family Services, 1928 E. Gypsy Lane Road, in the multi-purpose room. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss grant funding criteria for ARPA funds for non-profit organizations.

Also, the regular council meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday will be held at job and family services in the multi-purpose room.

This meeting will be live streamed over YouTube at www.bgohio.org/meetings.

Toy drive benefits BG children

The National Society of Leadership and Success is partnering with the National Senior Honor Society Mortar Board to collect toys to be donated to local kids of Bowling Green.

All of the toys collected will be given to the Bowling Green Fire Division for them to distribute to those in need.

The toy drive is running now through Nov. 21. Toys can be dropped off at in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union, the residence halls or in 301 Hayes Hall on the Bowling Green State University campus. Or contact Mason Lewis ([email protected]) to make arrangements.

Monthly food distribution is Friday

The monthly food distribution and senior food box program is Friday from 10-11:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1526 E. Wooster St.

Free fresh produce and food will be available in limited quantities. This is for anyone in Wood County who meets the income guidelines or who has recently lost their job. SeaGate Food Bank also is present at the same time to handout Senior Boxes to those who meet their eligibility requirements.

There will be drive-thru set-up this month to distribute food. Visitors are asked to remain in your vehicles in the church parking lot and wait for volunteer instructions. The pantry will not open early, so early line-ups are discouraged.

Grand Rapids church holds holiday bazaar

GRAND RAPIDS — Calvary United Methodist Church, 24362 Third St., will hold its Youth-at-Heart Holiday Bazaar on Saturday.

Doors open at 9 a.m. and the event will feature holiday gift items, grave blankets, homemade noodles, a bake sale and lunch.

A silent auction will go until 6 p.m. and an eat-in or drive-thru baked steak dinner will start at 4 p.m.
