BG man arrested for criminal mischief

A Bowling Green man was arrested Saturday for destroying a pumpkin.

Around 1:40 a.m. while on patrol in the area of North Enterprise and East Court streets, Bowling Green Police Division officers observed a male kick a parked vehicle then approach a home in the 400 block of East Court and pick up a pumpkin off the porch and throw it into the road.

When the man, later identified as Clay Downs, 23, Bowling Green, saw the patrol car, he took off running northbound, according to the police report.

He was located in the 100 block of North Enterprise and was arrested for criminal mischief.

He was taken to jail and was released Monday after posting bond.
