Falcons fare well at Toledo tennis

TOLEDO – Bowling Green State University tennis competed on the first day of the Rocket Invite, hosted by the University of Toledo at Twos Athletic Club.

The Falcons played a hidden dual match against Youngstown State, competing in doubles, blue singles and gold singles.

In doubles, the Falcons swept both matches. Ioanna Tsadari and Eloise Saraty paired for a close 7-5 victory over Cecilia Rosas and Lili Minich, then Hannah Neuman and Lucy Furness won another tight match, 6-4, over Eliska Marasikova and Julia Marko.

Tsadari was victorious over Minich in the singles round, once again winning a thrilling match. She took the opening set, 6-3, before dropping set two, 1-6. In the decisive set, the senior took control down the stretch, winning 10-7.

The Falcons also had four players compete in singles against Toledo, with the Rockets taking all four matches.

The Falcons conclude the fall season with day two of the Rocket Invite. The action begins at 9 a.m. Saturday when Bowling Green faces Cleveland State in doubles. Those matches will be followed by another round of doubles, with the Falcons meeting Toledo. The Falcons finish the day with two rounds of singles, both against Cleveland State. The blue singles round starts at 11 a.m., followed by the gold singles round at 1 p.m.
