Parklet raffle benefits BG holiday parade

The Parklet Project and the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce Foundation have announced another opportunity to support the 67th Annual Bowling Green Community Holiday Parade which will be held on Nov. 19.

In addition to the auction of parklet spaces and gift baskets that was announced last week, the group will also be hosting a raffle to raise money for the parade. Winners will receive front-row seats for friends, family, or coworkers at the parklet located in front of Flatlands Coffee, 138 N. Main St. They’ll also be treated to coffee, donuts and other refreshments during the parade.

The raffle is going on now and continues through 11:59 a.m. on Nov. 15. Tickets are $5 each, three for $10, or six for $20. Participants will receive a free entry for sharing the link on their receipt on social media. All of the proceeds will go to the nonprofit that organizes the Bowling Green Holiday Parade. “We’re excited to help support the Holiday Parade and so grateful to have the support of Ohio Logistics, Don Rose Auction and Realty, and the parklet owners,” Parklet Project member Rachel Phipps said. “Bowling Green is home to the largest holiday parade in Northwest Ohio, and it’s funded almost entirely by charitable donations. Hopefully this initiative helps boost the parade’s funding while also driving new customers into Bowling Green’s great downtown businesses.”

The Parklet Project is a fundraising effort launched in 2021 to help local businesses expand outdoor dining options during the pandemic. Participating businesses include SamB’s, Flatlands, Kabob It, Novel Blends, Juniper Brewing Company and Grounds for Thought.

The 67th Annual Bowling Green Community Holiday Parade is presented by the City of Bowling Green, Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce, Bowling Green State University and Wood County Hospital. WTOL Channel 11 will broadcast the parade live again this year with Ryan Wichman as the announcer.
