A Michigan man faces several charges after he allegedly assaulted a woman during a wedding reception in Bowling Green.

Bowling Green Police Division officers responded to the 700 block of Clough Street on Sunday at 10:45 p.m. to a report of a woman screaming.

Officers talked to a woman, who said she and her boyfriend were at a reception at City Park. They argued and he grabbed her by the hair and pulled her into the vehicle, she said.

He struck her twice on the right side of the face and she blacked out, according to the report. When he stopped the vehicle, she managed to get out of the car and scream, she told police.

The alleged victim was treated by Bowling Green EMS.

Around the same time, other officers observed a vehicle driving aggressively away from the Troup Avenue and East Wooster Street area, according to the report. It was stopped after going the wrong way on Wooster, which is under construction.

Darek Chelminiak, 44, Lambertville, was stopped on West Wooster.

He was charged with domestic violence, abduction, operating a vehicle under the influence and failing to obey a traffic control device, and taken to jail.
