Help with family routines, one-on-one learning, playgroups, and other opportunities are available for families through the Great Lakes Community Action Partnership Home-Based Program.

The service is available at no cost for families with children ages birth-3 in Wood, Ottawa, Sandusky and Seneca, counties.

“The home-based program is a great resource that supports parents in their children’s development,” GLCAP Child Development Director Jacquie Wells said. “We are here to help parents grow in their roles as teachers.”

Home-based program families take part in weekly, at-home, one-on-one learning sessions with home-based coaches who offer parent mentoring, school readiness activities, and other services that help infants and toddlers learn and grow. The program also provides regular play group sessions for socialization opportunities for families and children.

The GLCAP Home-Based Program utilizes Growing Great Kids curriculum, a nationally recognized early childhood curriculum that supports children and parents alike in early childhood development
