Ghanbari announces $1.5 million for infrastructure, community housing grants in Wood County

COLUMBUS, Ohio – State Rep. Haraz Ghanbari, R-Perrysburg, had announced that $1.5 million has been awarded to Wood County for both a critical infrastructure program and for community housing impact and preservation.

“I’m proud to announce today that significant funding was secured to improve the lives of Wood County residents,” Ghanbari said. “As a result, the critical infrastructure and housing improvements will truly have a positive impact on our families and for our communities throughout Wood County. The goal is to provide the infrastructure and housing needs of our citizens, and I’m pleased to see those needs being turned into reality with these funds.”

The funding allocations include:

· $163,500 – Critical Infrastructure Program – To assist the village of Bloomdale with storm sewer improvements. The project will benefit 171 people.

· $1.35 Million – Community Housing Impact and Preservation – To rehabilitate 14 owner-occupied homes, repair 19 owner-occupied homes, and will include a fair housing component in partnering with the cities of Bowling Green, Rossford and Northwood.

Ghanbari sits on the Ohio House Finance Committee and has worked to deliver funding projects and initiatives to the region through legislation.
