Knights rout Wildcats, 58-7

TONTOGANY — Otsego opened up a 34-0 first quarter lead and cruised to a 58-7 Northern Buckeye Conference victory over Woodmore Friday.

Otsego improves to 6-2 overall and 4-2 in the NBC, while Woodmore falls to 1-8 and 0-6.

The Knights totaled 307 offensive yards and held the Wildcats to 103 and had a 17-5 advantage in first downs.

Otsego quarterback Devin Farley threw three first quarter touchdowns — to Kenton Wallace for 80 yards, to Jack Simpson for 17 yards, and to Blake Steele for 36 yards.

Steele also scored on a 56-yard run and Owen Atkinson intercepted a Michael Seeger pass and returned it for an Otsego TD.

In the second quarter, Farley threw a nine-yard TD pass to Simpson and Steele scored from one yard out.

The Otsego defense forced a safety in the third quarter, and in the fourth, Caeden Henderson broke away for a 14-yard Otsego TD run.

Jack Caldwell scored on a 71-yard TD run in the fourth to put Woodmore on the board.

Farley completed 10-of-13 passes for 207 yards and Kaidyn Hutton completed all three passes he threw for 20 yards.

Wallace caught three passes for 104 yards, Simpson had three catches for 48 yards and Keeghan Hutton had two catches for 12 yards.

Brady Nicely, Mason Roe and Cohen Feehan all had catches for eight yards, and Jake Limes had a three-yard reception.

Steele ran for 72 yards on five carries, Jordyn Lee-Barnett ran for 32 yards on five carries, Henderson ran for 18 yards on three carries and Kristopher Kazmaier ran for 14 yards on nine carries.

Defensively for Otsego, Limes had four tackles and Simpson had two tackles for a loss.

For Woodmore, Caldwell ran for 74 yards on eight carries, Landon Rich ran for 15 yards on six carries and Jesse Gutierrez ran for 14 yards on eight carries.
