CURTICE – A Genoa teenager was killed in a one-car crash early Friday morning.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol Sandusky Post is investigating a one-vehicle fatal crash that occurred at 1:09 a.m. on Cedar Avenue in Curtice.
Cassidy Sanders, 17, driving a 2007 Chevrolet Impala, was eastbound on Cedar Avenue. She traveled off the right side of the road and struck two mailboxes. She then overcorrected and traveled off the left side of the road striking a tree, according to the patrol.
Sanders, who was not wearing a seat belt, died in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, Allen Clay Joint Fire District, Ken’s Towing and the Lucas County Coroner’s Office.
