Joyce E. Dennis, age 94, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Elmwood Assisted Living & Skilled Nursing in Fremont, OH.

She was born Joyce E. Willer on March 18, 1928 to Ralph and Jeneva (Notestine) Willer in Fremont, OH. She went on to graduate from Fremont Ross High School. On January 24, 1951, Joyce married Harry O. “Red-Moon” Dennis in Fremont, OH.

Joyce and Harry raised 7 children and celebrated over 61years of marriage together before Harry’s passing in 2012.

Throughout her younger years Joyce worked at Montgomery Ward and Kroger in Fremont. Later, in addition to being a homemaker, Joyce worked outside the home at PeeWees and the U.S. Postal Service for 25 plus years before she finally retired in 1988. A woman of faith, she was a member of the Stony Ridge United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, playing bunco and many other games. In fact, she was a very competitive game player and insisted on keeping score.

A favorite pastime of Joyce’s was bird watching and was an honorary member of the Green Creek Wildlife Society. She was an avid sports fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and especially the Detroit Tigers. But her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her children: Lana (John) Picciuto of Gibsonburg, Terry (Bill) Frantz of Bowling Green, James (Kathy Batesole) Dennis of Gibsonburg, R. Scott (Angela Scardina) Dennis of Maumee, Craig (Tammie) Dennis of Gibsonburg, Kelli Dennis of Northwood and Kamila (Lukasz) Rostocki of Fremont. Grandchildren: Amber (Jeff) Clay, Mario (Tess) Picciuto, Tony (Megan) Pasquale, Lauren (Andy Stevens) Pasquale, Michael Picciuto, Chris (Isarel) Dennis, Jordan Tolek, Alexa (Julio) Guerrero, Taylor (Salome) Pasquale, Margeaux (Shane Clark) Dennis, Westen (Sabree) Frantz, Justine (Travis) Mohre, Elena (Tyler) Witte, Andrew Dennis and Joshua Dennis. Greatgrandchildren: Carlie, Regan, Atticus, Isla, Sienna, Trent, Dax, Leonello, Nora; and brother, Jerry (Lynda) Willer of NY.

In addition to her husband Harry “Red- Moon,” she was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Logan Pasquale, brothers: Leland and Richard Willer.

Family and friends will be received 3-7 p.m., Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 110 Main Street in Luckey.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday with additional visitation from 10 a.m., until service time at Stony Ridge United Methodist Church, 5542 Fremont Pike, Stony Ridge, Ohio. Interment will be in Troy Twp. Cemetery, Luckey. Officiating will be Pr. Katie Collins.

The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to: Stony Ridge United Methodist Church, Green Creek Wildlife Society or the Wood County Humane Society.
