Denise Niese is the executive director of the Wood County Committee on Aging.

Denise Niese, a member of the Wood County Republican Women’s Club, was recently honored by the Ohio Federation of Republican Women with its Tribute to Women award.

Niese was recognized for her accomplishments in support of the Republican Party, the Federation of Republican Women and her community.

The event was held during the OFRW annual conference at the Embassy Suites in Dublin.

Niese has been a member of the Wood County Republican Women’s Club since the club was rechartered in 2016. She stepped in to become the club’s secretary when the prior secretary passed away. While holding that position, she assumed the role of club treasurer. Niese still serves as the club’s treasurer.

She chaired the Ohio Federation of Republican Women Nominating Committee in 2021. During her dual role as Wood County Republican Women’s Club secretary and treasurer, she was elected to the Northwood school board, and held the position of executive director for the Wood County Committee on Aging in Bowling Green,Ohio. Recently, Niese oversaw the building of a new $8 million facility designed to be the main site for the county’s office on aging. She is also responsible for seven other WCCOA locations.

Niese has been able to mentor women, impact the community in which she lives, and earn the privilege of serving on other county and state boards and committees.

Her leadership qualities, professionalism, personal accomplishments, and her high valuation of people made her a deserving honoree for the Tribute to Women award, the federation said in a news release.

She and her husband Dale have two sons and a granddaughter.

The Wood County Republican Women’s Club is a member club of the OFRW, a grassroots organization founded in 1929 to encourage and champion women from all backgrounds to engage in the political process at every level of government, upholding the principles of the Republican platform.The OFRW achieves this by campaigning, educating, increasing registered Republicans, and lending support to Republican candidates and organizations.

The WCRWC is also chartered with the National Federation of Republican Women, which is the largest grassroots Republican women’s organization with over 65,000 active members in local clubs across the nation.The NFRW provides a forum for women to serve as leaders in the political, government, and civic arenas.
