‘FOX & Friends’ at Kermit’s in BG

FOX News Channel’s “FOX & Friends” will present its signature “Breakfast with Friends” segment this morning at Kermit’s Family Restaurant, 307 S. Main St.

“Lawrence Jones Cross Country” host and “FOX & Friends” enterprise reporter Lawrence Jones will be on location to speak with diner patrons about the upcoming midterm elections and news of the day impacting Ohio voters.

“FOX & Friends” is FNC’s flagship morning franchise featuring co-hosts Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt and Brian Kilmeade. Every weekday morning from 6-9, the show highlights the latest in news, weather, sports and entertainment and is the most-watched morning program in cable news.

Library will close early Saturday

The Wood County District Public Library, 251 N. Main St., will be closing at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Danny Trejo will share his “Culinary & Life Experiences” through a library event on Saturday night at the Bowling Green City Schools Performing Arts Center. The free event is full and has a waiting list.

Pet blessing planned at Perrysburg church

PERRYSBURG — A Blessing of the Pets will be held Saturday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 871 E. Boundary St.

The church will bless dogs, cats and rabbits. There will also be gift baskets, pet vendors and a food truck. Leashes or cages are required.

The service starts at 11:45 a.m.

If you can’t bring the pet, bring a picture.

Carter Historic Farm welcomes visitors to Heritage Farm Fest

The Wood County Park District’s Heritage Farm Fest is set for Saturday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Carter Historic Farm, 18331 Carter Road.

The Heritage Farm Fest event features family-friendly historic agricultural fun including live music, wagon rides, tea and history talks, old-fashioned laundry station, scarecrow contest, cider-pressing, wagon rides, bowling and games, farming demonstrations, donut-eating contest, ice-cream and cobbler, and lunch sustainably grown and holistically-raised on the farm.

Community partners in attendance include WBGU PBS, the Wood County District Public Library, 4-H, the Power of Yesteryear and the Friends of the Wood County Park District.

Carter Historic Farm is a working farm and cultural history center representing life in the 1930s and 1940s. Public programs in traditional life skills and sustainable agricultural practices are offered, as well as community events, field trips and tours. The property is open daily from 8 a.m. until 30 minutes past sunset. The farm buildings are open to visit on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4 p.m. Call ahead to schedule a tour.

Lawn sale at Wolcott center

MAUMEE — The Wolcott Heritage Center’s 50th annual lawn sale is set for Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at 1035 River Road.

Vendors will be selling antiques and vintage and collectible items. Tours of the Wolcott House start at 12:30 p.m.

There will also be food trucks, music and children’s crafts.

Celebrate German American Day at museum

The Wood County Museum and Bowling Green State University’s Department of World Languages and Cultures present German Wedding Traditions on Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Wood County Museum, 13660 County Home Road, in observance of German American Day.

Michael McMaster will give a short introductory program on German American Wedding Traditions, followed by a “story slam” where participants are given time to share their own German American experiences on any topic.

German snacks and fellowship will follow the program.

From 6-7 p.m., the museum will be open for self-guided tours, including the exhibits on the Mary & Carl Bach Story, the wedding exhibit Allure & Illusion and For Comfort & Convenience, about Ohio poor farms.
