Peek-a-boo pumpkins program at library on Saturday
Babies and toddlers with caregivers can enjoy stories and activities about pumpkins during the Peek-a-Boo
Pumpkins program on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. at the Wood County District Public Library.
Learn about and practice what a child needs to develop his/her pre-literacy skills.
Magic-comedy show is free
NORTH BALTIMORE – A frightfully funny show for all ages will be held at the library Oct. 16 at 6:30 p.m.

Andrew Martin’s Halloween Spooktacular, a comedy-magic show, will be in the Wolfe Community Room.
Admission is free.
Learn storybook theater, improv in Horizon classes
Horizon Youth Theatre will offer Drama Club Classes on storybook theater and improv on Wednesday from
4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Woodland Mall near the cinemas.
The cost is $5 and no pre-registration is required.
Abbey Casino is teaching Storybook Theatre for 5 to 9-year-olds. From the book to the stage, storybook
theatre showcases some favorite stories in a new light. Come and see beloved fairy tale characters come
to life.
Rachel Savarino is teaching improv through scenes for the 10 to 18-year-olds. Improv is not about making
jokes, it is about making a strong scene and making partners look good.
Scouts collect coats, blankets
WALBRIDGE – Daisy Scout Troop 10047 is collecting blankets and coats Oct. 10-12.
There will be a box to drop off items in front of Susie’s Skillet on Main Street from Oct. 10-12.
The girls will also be going door to door collecting coats and blankets on Oct. 12.
Bookaneers reading ‘Gooseberry Park’
PERRYSBURG – The Bookaneers Book Club is reading "Gooseberry Park" by Cynthia Rylant this
month.
The group, which is for children ages 7-10, will meet for a discussion on Oct. 16 from 4 to 5 p.m. at Way
Public Library.
Copies of the book are currently available for checkout at the Youth Services Desk.  For more

Science Day at the zoo
TOLEDO – Visit Nature’s Neighborhood at the Toledo Zoo on Sunday for Fall Science Day.
There will be hands-on science activities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be demonstrations and
animal encounters.
