Veteran cherished school program

To the Editor:
This past Veterans Day  I, along with about 100 other veterans, were honored and privileged to attend a
Veterans Day program at the Bowling Green Middle School.
This outstanding program was organized by Mr. Pat Carney, Social Studies teacher at the school. The
keynote speaker was Lt. Colonel Steven Hopingardner, U.S. Army, the commanding officer of the ROTC
program at Bowling Green State University.
But perhaps the most rewarding part of the program were the middle school students who anticipated or
attended. What a terrific group of young people they are!
From the standing ovation we received as we entered the auditorium to the applause at the end, this was a
memory I will cherish all my life.
Thank you all, so much, for what you did.
