Train strikes unoccupied vehicle stuck on tracks

BRADNER — A vehicle struck by a southbound CSX train in the village Friday night was unoccupied and had
become stuck on the tracks.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the incident at 10:09 p.m. at the railroad crossing with
Greensburg Pike.
The vehicle, driven by John Simpkins, 45, Bradner, was southbound on the road when the vehicle became
stuck on the railroad tracks. Simpkins subsequently left the vehicle. It was later struck by a
southbound CSX train and pushed down the tracks.
No citation in the incident has yet been issued.
