Eastwood High School
Eastwood High School senior Jenna Selhorst, was selected as the September Student of the Month.
Selhorst is the daughter of Karen and Rick Selhorst, and is an honor roll student with a 4.43 gpa.
She is the vice-president of the National Honor Society, key club secretary, school newspaper editor, and
a member of the senior executive council, all while running cross country and track.
In the community, she is a member of the Saint John XXIII Youth Band and assists with the children’s
religious education program.
After graduation, Selhorst plans on continuing her education at either Miami University or Ohio State
University, studying a major in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Elmwood High School
Ashley Veryser is the October Student of the Month at Elmwood High School.
She has a 4.0 gpa and is president of National Honor Society and has kept perfect attendance.
The senior is a three-year varsity volleyball letterman, a two-year varsity basketball letterman, and has
earned coach’s awards and all-academic awards.
She is a member of Spanish club, yearbook  and is vice president of her class and assistant treasurer in
FFA.
She is involved in 4-H and has volunteered at the Wood County Fair.
Veryser plans to major in marine biology and play collegiate volleyball, but has not decided on the
college.
