Holmes honored by MAC
Richaun Holmes, a senior on the Bowling Green State University men’s basketball team, was name the
Mid-American Conference East men’s player of the week.
Holmes averaged 20 points, 12.5 rebounds and three blocked shots in two Falcon wins last week. He scored
26 points and set a career high with 18 rebounds Sunday at Detroit.
Stephens honored by MAC
Freshman Clint Stephens was named the Mid-American Conference East special teams player of the week in
football.
The Falcons’ defensive back and kick returner had a 96-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in Bowling
Green’s loss to Ball State last week. It was the longest kickoff return in school history.
Justinger named SAOW
Miriam Justinger, a junior on the Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team, was named the
Mid-American Conference scholar-athlete of the week for the week of Nov. 17-24.
Justinger averaged 11 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 3 assists per game in wins over Iona and
Milwaukee. She holds a 3.602 GPA in exercise science.
Falcon hockey moves up
Bowling Green State University’s hockey team moved up one spot to No. 14 in this week’s USCHO men’s
hockey poll.
The Falcons are one of four teams ranked in the top 20 from the WCHA.
Pair from Owens honored
Darren Groves, a member of the Owens Community College men’s basketball team, and LaKayra Carlisle of the
women’s team have been named Ohio Community College Athletic Conference players of the week.
