BGSU volleyball alum signs pro deal
Former Bowling Green State University volleyball player Kaitlyn Skinner has signed a professional
contract to play with Club Voleibol Emeve in the Superliga de Femenina in Lugo, Spain.
Skinner was a second-team All-Mid-American Conference selection as a senior, ranking in the top 35
players in the country in blocks. She ranks second all-time in BGSU history with 143 block assists her
senior season.
Owens volleyball wins fifth straight
Owens Community College’s volleyball team was a 25-13, 25-22, 23-25, 25-14 winner over Lakeland Community
College.
The Express, ranked No. 16, were led by Erika Hartings 18 kills.
Eastwood High School graduate Aricka LaVoy had eight digs.
Owens is 23-8 overall and 8-1 in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference.
Owens men’s soccer wins big
Owens Community College’s men’s soccer team posted a 6-0 win over Lakeland Community College.
Ahmad Jarrar scored twice in the win, helping the Express to their third straight win. Owens is 8-4-1
overall.
Malaczewski named national player of the week
Haley Malaczewski, a sophomore on the Owens Community College women’s soccer team, was named the National
Junior College Athletic Association Division I player of the week Wednesday.
Malaczewski had six goals and three assists last week, as she earned the award for the first time in
Express program history.
A Bowling Green State University transfer, Malaczewski has eight goals, six assists and 22 points for the
Express this season.
