Prep roundup: Hanus medals again to lead Bobcats

WATERVILLE — Bowling Green’s girls golf team secured medalist honors and another win with a three-stroke
victory over Anthony Wayne at Fallen Timbers Golf Club on Wednesday.
Macy Hanus fired a match-low 39 to lead the Bobcats over AW 196-199.
Brennin Gray-DuVall had the second lowest score of the day carding a 42 for BG, followed by Kelly
Miller’s 52 and Jai-Lin Castro’s 65.
Kailey Harp led the Generals with a 45.
Defiance Elks Invitational
DEFIANCE — Otsego bested five schools at the Auglaize Golf Club for the Defiance Elks Invitational on
Wednesday.
But the Knights’s team score of 389 was good for just second place as Wauseon carded a 372 to win.
Rossford finished sixth with a 411.
Olivia Jackson paced Otsego with an 89 — the fourth best score of the invite — and Maggie Lehsten also
notched a top-10 score in carding a 94.
Hope London scored a 98 for the Knights and Camryn Tussing added a 112.
Madelyn St. Mary led the Bulldogs with a 97 and Alyssa Haynes carded a 98. Lucy Hoskins added a 106 and
Mia Carusone carded a 110.
Wauseon junior Lexe McQuillen earned medalist honors with a 74.
Perrysburg 161, Fremont 206
Mason Deal claimed medalist honors and led the Perrysburg boys over Fremont 161-206 on Wednesday.
Deal carded a 35 to lead the Yellow Jackets, followed by Nick Mondora (40), Luke Gordon (43) and Drew
Paule (43).
Perrysburg 184, Springfield 255
Perrysburg left nothing to doubt on Wednesday, tallying a 71-stroke win over Springfield.
The Yellow Jackets scored a 184-255 victory led by Anabel Rossi’s 41. Ella Sams and Hannah Craig both
carded a 44, while Kaylee Alarcon and Daisy Schwind each scored a 55.
Eastwood 222, Lake 232
PERRYSBURG — Lake’s Kimmy Zoltani nabbed medalist honors, but Eastwood narrowly edged the Flyers 222-232
at Crosswinds Golf Course on Wednesday.
Erica Brooks paced the Eagles with a 51 and Emma Bowe carded a 52. Mariah Hahn added a 59 and Reegan
Sheets scored a 60.
Zoltani held a seven-stroke advantage with a 44 to lead Lake as the medalist.
Upper Sandusky 160, Bellevue 181, Elmwood 232
UPPER SANDUSKY — Upper Sandusky’s Brett Montgomery birdied four of the front nine holes as the Rams
toppled both Bellevue and Elmwood to win the triangular match at Lincoln Hills Golf Club on Wednesday.

Montgomery bogeyed just once in carding a 34 for Upper, which scored a 160 to top Bellevue (181) and
Elmwood (232).
Oliver Smith led the Royals with a team-best 53 followed by a 56 from Jonah Houtz. Also scoring was Tegan
Tyson (59) and Nathan Abke (64).
