SYLVANIA — Bowling Green’s senior class nabbed its first ever tournament win last week.
However, the Bobcats were tasked with the district’s top seed and the state’s No. 2 team in Division I on
Monday night.
Anthony Wayne, ranked second, buried four goals in the first 30 minutes and raced to a 7-0 win in
Monday’s Division I district semifinal at Sylvania Northview High School.
Bowling Green ends its season at 8-10 overall.
Anthony Wayne advances to play Perrysburg at 6 p.m. on Thursday back at Northview.
Cross Country
Division I boys district tournament
FINDLAY — Bowling Green’s boys cross country team had four runners finish in the top 25 in helping the
Bobcats advance to the regional tournament.
BG scored 106 team points to finish third at the district meet held at Owens Community College in Findlay
on Saturday. Ashland won with 48 points and Toledo Whitmer edged BG for second with 86 points.
Gavin Lammers paced the Bobcats with a ninth-place finish with a time of 16:45.19 and Thomas Rigel placed
19th in a time of 17:13.97.
Also scoring for BG was Aaron Partin (17:25.82) in 21st, Thomas Long (17:26.04) in 22nd and Evan Romero
(17:54.73) in 35th.
