Otsego to attend a cappella festival

Knightmusik, the a cappella ensemble from Otsego High School, will be among 61 groups from seven states
attending the Kettering National A Cappella Festival Nov. 7-8 in Kettering.
While there, they’ll participate in clinics, master classes and evaluations led by some of the top a
cappella performers, directors and arrangers in the country, including members of the nationally known
vocal group Street Corner Symphony, a finalist on the second season of NBC’s The Sing-Off.
This six-man group, based in Nashville, Tennessee, performs a wide range of vocal stylings from gospel
and barbershop to rock and pop.
After the festival, Knightmusik will attend Street Corner Symphony’s public concert at Trent Arena.
Fans of Knightmusik are welcome to attend.
Tickets are $30 for reserve premium seating and $20 for reserve and handicapped-accessible seats. They’re
available at www.acafest.org or through the Kettering Fairmont box office, 937-499-2647. Tickets also be
on sale at the door.
Trent Arena is at 3301 Shroyer Road, Kettering, at the west end of the Fairmont campus.
Groups that arrived in Kettering on Nov. 7 night will also be able to attend an a cappella showcase
featuring the five-member group VoicePlay of Orlando, Fla., and the top visiting ensembles at the
festival; tickets are $10, available at the door. The showcase starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Kettering
Performing Arts Center.
