TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — A northwest Ohio high school is mourning the loss of a football player who was found
shot to death on the street last week.

Police in Toledo have made no arrests in the Friday night slaying of 17-year-old student Carter Coley.

Toledo Public Schools spokesman Patty Mazur confirmed that he went to Woodward High School and played on
the football team. She said the school had extra counselors and a psychologist available at school
Monday for anyone who wanted to talk about it.

Coley was found on the sidewalk shot multiple times. He died later at a hospital.

It’s the city’s 22nd homicide of 2014.
